To install the mod, follow the steps below. If you come across some weird issue, please check that it is in the Common questions and issues article before going to the Discord for help.
Requirements
Open your game and confirm that you have the correct version of Hollow Knight in the main menu. If you have a different version, see how to change Hollow Knight versions before using the mod.

Installing the mod
- Download the Lumafly Mod Installer and open it
- If Lumafly can't find the game, you'll be asked to select it yourself. To see where it is:
- Steam: In your library, right-click Hollow Knight > Manage > Browse local files
- GoG: Click the symbol next to the play button > Manage Installation > Show Folder
- Windows Xbox app: Click the 3 dots next to the play button > Manage > Files > Browse
- Open the ‘Mods’ tab of the application
- Find the mods in the list that you want by using the search bar at the top
- Find HKMP in the list and click “Install”
- (Optional) If you want to access the public servers (so that you and friends don’t have to host your own), find HkmpPouch and click “Install”.
- (Optional) If you want to be able to synchronize game items and other things with your friends, additional mods must be installed and set up. Follow the synchronization guide for more information
- (Optional) Other mods or addons related to multiplayer can also be installed, but be careful as it may require other friends to install the same ones. Learn more about HKMP addons
- Wait for the installation of the mod to complete, then close the mod installer and open Hollow Knight. You will see the mod name show in the top-left inside the game if the installation went well
