Here are some steps for setting the correct version for the HKMP mod.

What version is correct?

See the table below. You can verify your game version in the game menu.

I’m on a newer version

You should change the game to an older version before proceeding.

• Steam: Right-click the game, go to Betas, and select the correct previous version option
• GoG Galaxy: There should be a selection of previous patches in the game properties
• Windows Xbox app: This store doesn’t give an option to downpatch. You will have to wait for the modding API and mod to be updated

If you already have installed any mods and you got this update, it may be necessary to use the Verify Integrity option to repair the game files after changing the game version, and then go through the Lumafly mod installer again. After ensuring that your game is in the correct version, continue with the mod installation.

I’m on an older version

Open your game store and check whether your game has a pending update. If there isn’t, check if your game store is manually set to use an older version:

• Steam: Right-click Hollow Knight in the library > Properties > Betas > "None"
• GoG: Open the game settings in GoG and de-select 1.4.3.2 from the list of patches

After ensuring that your game is up to date, continue with the mod installation.

I want to stay on old versions / 1.4.3.2

Staying on old versions like 1.4.3.2 is highly unrecommended, because the guide and the public server are both made for the newer versions of the mod. Only do this if you need to, and you’re a technical user that can figure things out yourself. You may not receive support from others if you have issues.
